§ 11.08.320. VEHICLES OPERATING ON RUNWAY AND TAXIWAYS.

Latest version.
  • A. No vehicle shall be operated on the runway and taxiways (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and runway connectors), unless so authorized in writing by the Airport Supervisor.
    B. Any vehicle authorized to operate on the airport runway or taxiways shall display a rotating or steady beacon that complies with FAA Advisory Circular 150/5210-5, as amended, and is visible to the air traffic. Exceptions to this rule must be authorized in writing by the Airport Supervisor.
    C. All vehicles that are authorized to operate on the air operations areas (AOA) central and north public ramps, Taxiway Alpha, Taxiway Bravo, Taxiway Charlie, or the runway must be equipped with and utilize a two-way aviation radio, and remain in continuous communications with, the airport traffic and UNICOM. The installation of a two-way radio does not permit the operation of vehicles on runway or taxiways without prior written permission of the Airport Supervisor. If vehicles are not equipped with radios, prior arrangements must be made with the Airport Supervisor. Additionally, all vehicle operators shall be conversant with airport operations and air traffic patterns.
    D. FBO vehicle operators shall take and must pass airport drivers tests prior to operating on public airport ramps. Records of those tests shall be provided to the Airport Supervisor.
